Welcome back to St. Casimir Lithuanian Heritage School! Thank you for your efforts in keeping the love of the Lithuanian heritage alive in your families.
This year we will commemorate and celebrate the Centennial of Lithuania’s Independence 1918-2018 .The teachers have planned various activities and programs that will be both educational and entertaining.
In the future all announcements , weekly school news, and other communication from the school will be found on the school’s website lamokykla.com. Information will be available in both English and Lithuanian. Emails will not be the primary means of communication. However, please feel free to address individual concerns to the teachers or M.Newsom.
Sept. 16th PARENT MEETING for all parents after flag-raising ceremonies. At least one parent from each family should attend. Changes in the use of the school grounds and child safety concerns will be addressed. Coffee and donuts!
September 23rd – Child Safety classes , as mandated by the L.A. Archdiocese, will be conducted in every class (K-12) during regular class time, using age-appropriate material (in English).Please sign a permission slip to allow your child to attend.
Oct. 1st , Sunday, the weekend of Lithuanian Days, all families and students are invited to meet Lithuanian rock star, Jurgis Didziulis, as he travels around the world, meeting Lithuanians and promoting Lithuanian pride ! Watch youtube TO BE LT: KARTU AMERIKOJE. He and his team will be in the parish hall at 10 a.m. to entertain, interview, and film L.A. Lithuanians. Please attend. Family mass follows at 11 am. The students will open that day’s LT Days program at 12:15.
VIRTUS CHILD SAFETY LECTURE FOR ADULTS will be presented in the UPPER HALL on OCT. 7TH, 9:30 a.m. All parents who spend time in our school, volunteer in class, do yard duty , assist with lunches, substitute in classes, drive non-family children on field trips or other activities associated with Scouts or Ateitininkai, are required to attend the lecture . A VIRTUS certificate, valid for four years, will be issued.
